Program OverviewThe ROP Early Childhood Education course is a year-long, double-blocked program designed to immerse students in the developmental stages of children from birth to age eight. This combined concentrator and capstone course prepares students for professional roles in preschools, day care centers, and primary classrooms by blending advanced teaching philosophies with practical, real-world application.
Students will gain hands-on experience through Community Classroom rotations at local childcare/education sites and develop essential industry tools, including a personal Teaching Philosophy and a comprehensive one-week unit plan. Participants will earn their CPR and Mandated Reporting Certifications as well as potentially earning 6 Butte College Credits. Successful completion of this course satisfies the requirements needed to apply for a California Child Development Assistant Permit. This program is an ideal foundation for those aspiring to become teachers, child development specialists, or preschool educators. Program Information FlyerClick to open PDF document.
