Year in Review 2024

Here's a snapshot of what's happening at Butte County CTE:

• The online application for our Spring 2025 Phlebotomy Technician program will open December 9th, 2024.
• The online application for Session 3 of our Professional Welding Academy closes on December 5th, 2024.
• Save the D​ate: Our second annual Butte Glenn 8th-Grade Career Day is set for February 11th, 2025.

​2024 - A Year in Review for CTE

This year, we’ve worked tirelessly to expand programs, celebrate milestones, and engage our community to foster career readiness and lifelong learning. Here's to continuing this momentum into 2025!

Apprenticeship:

• Achieved Federal Registration for our new Dental Assistant Apprenticeship Program
• Launched our first cohort of Dental Assistant Apprentices

Student and Program Successes:

• Successfully graduated students in our Medical Assistant (MA), Registered Dental Assistant (RDA), Certified Veterinary Assistant (CVA), Phlebotomy Technician, and Welding programs throughout the year
• Successfully completed our first Medical & Hospital Careers class for local high school students
• Provided opportunities for all of our students to gain clinical and industrial on-the-job experience in real-world environments

Enrichment Opportunities:

• Hosted program tours to engage new students
• Developed new Welding Enrichment Classes for local adults
• Hosted middle and high school Career Camps focused on career exploration and skill-building

• Organized our first highly successful Career Day event for over 2,000 8th-graders in Butte and Glenn County with the support of over 500 educators, professionals, and volunteers

Continuous Improvement:
We will continue to...

• Strengthen partnerships with local employers for apprenticeship and career development opportunities
• Capture student and staff success stories to inspire future participation and enrollment
• Enhance focus on mental health resources for students
• Develop the highly-skilled workforce for our local community!
