Leading Career Education with Excellence.

In 1974, the Butte County Office of Education established the Butte County Regional Occupational Program (Butte County ROP). The intent was to develop a career technical education delivery system that would provide skill training and career guidance with work-based learning opportunities appropriate for Butte County adults.

Since then, Butte County CTE was created to house career technical education (CTE) services which include our Butte County ROP programs as well as CTE leadership development, technical assistance, K-12 career education and CTE teacher mentorship. In addition, Butte County CTE collaborates with industry and workforce development agencies to offer personalized training programs.

Butte County CTE offers a wide variety of career programs and services for adults in the county. These are intended for anyone seeking a new career, a career focus, or upgrading of current skills.

Butte County ROP
Butte County ROP is a career technical education delivery system that provides skill training and career guidance with work-based learning opportunities appropriate for Butte County adults.  Butte County ROP programs are taught by instructors with industry skills and knowledge, and each holds a State of California credential authorizing their instruction in their industry area. Butte County ROP provides high quality career technical programs that prepare students for industry employment in careers such as Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy Technician, Dental Assistant, Professional Welder and Veterinary Assistant. CTE Professional Development
Butte County CTE provides CTE teachers, counselors and other K12 educators and administrators with engaging and targeted professional development that supports high quality career technical education.​ We provide workshops, curriculum institutes and CTE Teacher mentorship and induction support. Learn more here. ​
Career Exploration for Schools and Youth
Through our Career Skills Camps, Career Planning Presentations and Career Modules for schools, we support our local youth in career exploration and skills training. Learn more about the different opportunities we provide here. ​
CTE Funding Technical Assistance
Butte County Office of Education is the K12 SWP Technical Assistance Provider for Butte and Glenn County Schools. We also provide support for CTEIG funding. Learn more here. ​
Direct Support Professional Training
Under a contract with the CDE, our DSPT program provides testing and training to regional center residential care givers who serve individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Learn more here.
