ROP High School Pathways
Butte County ROP
The Career Technical Education department (CTE) of the Butte County Office of Education operates Butte County ROP (Regional Occupational Program), providing career technical education to both high school students and adults in Butte County and beyond. In cooperation with the local business community, ROP prepares people for work by providing youth and adults with marketable skills, work ethics, and job training needed to build and keep a career.
Through ROP Classes, students receive: Job skills and job skills upgrading; up-to-date training by skilled instructors; career guidance; on-the-job experience through our Community Classroom; and a Certificate of Completion.
ROP Adult Programs
Butte County CTE has been providing Career Technical Education through its ROP Program to Butte County since 1975. ROP programs are taught by instructors with industry skills and knowledge, and each holds a State of California credential authorizing their instruction in their industry area. Through our School of ROP, we provide high quality career technical programs that prepare students for industry employment in high-demand careers. In addition, our students receive career services including job seeking skills, career guidance and interview preparation. Financial Aid is available for some programs.
ROP High School Pathways
In addition to our adult ROP programs, Butte County CTE offers several high school CTE pathways designed to expose high school students to a variety of occupations and to prepare them for the workforce. The first 14 weeks of class are spent in the classroom preparing students and laying the foundation for job site training. During this time students will participate in job shadows to help determine job site placements. Job site training is performed under supervision at one of our partner clinical sites.
